Foreign Minister Tuomioja participates in the informal meeting of EU Foreign Ministers in Vilnius

Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja will participate in the informal meeting of EU Ministers for Foreign Affairs (Gymnich) to be held in Vilnius on 6−7 September.

The issues on the agenda of the two-day meeting include EU's Eastern and Southern Neighbourhoods and the Middle East peace process. As regards Eastern Partnership, the debate will serve as introduction to the summit to be held in Vilnius in November.

The meeting will also address topical issues in Syria and Egypt in particular. In addition, the ministers will have a discussion in preparation for the European Council meeting, to be held in December, which will focus on the Common Security and Defence Policy.
