Foreign Minister Tuomioja to Israel and the Palestinian territories

Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja visits Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories on 19-22 May.

The Minister will meet with high leadership of Israel and the Palestinian National Authority, including Israeli President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Palestinian National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Foreign Minister Riad Malki. The discussions will concern bilateral issues, the status of the Middle East peace process, and other topical regional issues.

The previous time, the Finnish Foreign Minister visited Israel and the Palestinian territories in October 2010 as part of the President of the Republic’s delegation. The Palestinian National Authority Foreign Minister Riad Malki visited Helsinki in June 2010 and Foreign Minister of Israel Avigdor Lieberman in July 2010.
